MOSTWELL INTERNATIONAL to provide Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle Market Overview at Upcoming U.S. - China Green Energy Council's Seminar on Transportation, June 22, 2009 at Wilson Sonsini

Cliff Nakayama, Managing Director of Mostwell International, has agreed to provide a market overview of the plug-in hybrid electric vehicle market outlook in the U.S. and China for the U.S. - China Green Energy Council (www.ucgef.org). The U.S. - China Green Energy Council is noted for their work in promoting collaboration between U.S. and China in the areas of cleantech, and provide guidance and leadership in such issues as Smart Grid, smart buildings, Energy & IT, and advanced trasnportation for the purpose of promoting collaboration in areas important to both countries' environment and business.

MOSTWELL INTERNATIONAL Hosts China VC Panel for Silicon Valley’s Association for Corporate Growth

“The China Venture Community…Where it is Today, and What it will be in the Future,”  drew a lively and opinionated crowd of over 60 members of the Silicon Valley Association for Corporate Growth (ACG) at the Fremont Hills Country Club.  This biennial China venture panel was organized and moderated by Cliff Nakayama, a partner at Mostwell International LLC, a contributing member to the Silicon Valley chapter of the ACG.

“We were fortunate to have the likes of Eric Wang, a managing partner at WK Tech Fund, and James Chen, founder & CEO of Holly High Investment Bank (Beijing) , “ stated Mr. Nakayama. “ Eric provided keen insights on the status of investment funding in China, how Silicon Valley, China, and Taiwan VC environments compare with one another.  James was equally intense describing the four critical factors in successful M&A deals in China, with case history to back up his opinion,” he added.

James Chen is the Chairman and CEO of Holly High Investment Bank (www.hollyhigh.cn ), one of the first government-approved M&A firms who are assisting global companies, like Shell, Lafarge, & SK, to engage in China. He is a graduate of the prestigious Tsinghua University in economics and management.

Eric Wang is a senior partner of the WK Tech Fund (www.wktechfund.com ), a Taiwan-based VC firm specializing in semiconductor, system, software & China growth markets, investing in the likes of Acer, BenQ, Foxconn, Aruba Networks, Flextronics, Quanta Computer, and more. WK Tech Fund was founded in 1989, and currently manages a $500 million fund in "evergreen" space. Eric holds a PhD and M.S. in engineering-economics systems from Stanford University.

The moderator, Cliff Nakayama of Mostwell International LLC (www.mostwellintl.com ), specializes in trans-Pacific investment consulting and management. He has held executive positions in aerospace/defense, automotive, and semiconductor and software businesses in the US and Asia since 1983, is a graduate of the U.S. Military Academy, and holds an MBA from Pepperdine University.

Graduate-level business students from all over the world conclaved at the Haas Business School on the U.C. Berkeley campus for the 26th Annual Graduate Business Conference  to learn from experienced entrepreneurs and international business executives comprising a panel on “China’s Role in Global Business.” Panelists included:

The panel addressed this year’s conference theme of: “Becoming a Global Leader”, offering strategic insights to conference participants on how top executives have led their organizations to produce in, sell to, invest in, or create businesses to take advantage of unique opportunities in China.

The panel was moderated by Professor Vinod Aggarwal of the department of Political Science, an affiliated professor of Business and Public Policy in the Haas School of Business, and director of the Berkeley Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation Study Center (BASC) at the University of California at Berkeley.

Over 50 business schools participating in this annual program included Harvard, Columbia, Dartmouth, Yale, Cambridge (England), Georgetown, Carnegie-Mellon, National University of Singapore, China Europe International Business School, National Chengchi University,  and Norwegian School of Economics & Business.
